About Us

Callcredit was established in 2001 by Skipton Building Society, one of the UK's largest building societies. We have successfully created a totally new, web-based consumer credit information service for the UK, which creates additional choice and offers significant value to lenders.

Our Role and Aim
The aim of Callcredit is to provide consumers easy access to their credit data, information, advice and help to help assist in the credit decision making process, allowing informed decisions to aid responsible borrowing.

Callcredit check is an online service delivering credit report information back to the consumer so that they can monitor the credit report data that lenders see, avoid over-indebtedness, and protect against identity fraud. By allowing transparency of data, Callcredit empowers individuals to understand their credit report and credit score. Callcredit check is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, via the internet.

Not restricted by legacy systems, we set out to give lenders and consumers access to accurate, comprehensive information more quickly, easily and cost-effectively than ever before. Our use of new server-based Microsoft technology combined with secure web delivery means we can offer lower cost services and solutions together with faster deployment. In the rapidly changing world of financial services this represents a significant competitive advantage.

We have built dynamic databases, fully compliant from the outset with all third party data requirements, which hold detailed information on 44 million consumers. Our datasets comprise publicly available records from a wide variety of sources, together with credit account performance data contributed by the UK's major lenders.
